If you and your partner are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, you probably are going through a whirlwind of emotions. You could be feeling scared, confused, and overwhelmed. We understand and we are here for you. At Echoz, we not only help women but are committed to helping men as well. We are here to support you and give you a place to share your questions and concerns. Understand that you are vitally important to this process.
You may be asking yourself questions like:
- “Is she really pregnant?”
- “Am I really the father?”
- “Why wasn’t she more careful?”
- “What am I supposed to do now?”
We are here to help walk you through all your questions and with your decision-making process. You can do this.
Communication is key
Communication is so important for both you and your partner. Talk with her and try to listen as best as you can. This difficult time in life involves more than just you…more than just her. It is your chance to be there for each other.
Talk with people who care and that you trust. In addition to keeping the lines of communication open between the two of you, it’s important to discuss the situation with parents and others who’ll be directly affected. Keeping this a secret will only add to the stress. Ultimately, it’s up to you and your partner for what you do next.
Educate yourself
Know all of your options during this time. We are here to help both of you come to an informed decision. To help show your support, go along with your partner to the pregnancy test and ultrasound appointment. If she truly is pregnant, then she is already overwhelmed because of hormone changes. Having your support will reassure her that you care and she is not alone.
Be honest with your partner and yourself. You’ll be surprised how much it will help the process and your connection with your partner along the way.
